HOW TO FIX LAPTOP OR CPU CABINET ELECTRIC SHOCKS

Do you get electric shocks from laptop or computer cabinets? Checkout below video to see how to fix it.

This article is about fixing laptop or computer electric shocks getting from the case. Let's check why it happening, how to fix it & Does this shocks can kill you or laptop?

I always recommend to call electrician if you don't know what you are doing! , we will not responsible any think happens you because we are dealing with high voltage, Kids please stay away from this fix

In this video, i explaining how to solve electric or static shocks from laptop or cpu casing,

This issue is because of defective or unbranded power supply, in laptop or notebook case it is charging adaptor and in computer it is PSU (power supply unit) also known as SMPS (switching mode power supply) .

what does this laptop adaptor or PSU do ?

They convert AC (alternating current)  to DC (direct current)  and provide rated voltage and required current to load, but computer PSU supply 24v, 12v, 5v, 3.3v to motherboard. laptop adaptor only supply one voltage it maybe 19v or 18v etc.. laptop inside has voltage convertor and it covert to 5v and so on.

okay now come to the point, most adaptor negative is connected to laptop body, so if any high voltage leak in negative terminal of adaptor then you will get shock if you touch laptop or notebook body, actually dc negative should be zero but due manufacturing issue the adaptor is leaking voltage and most case that high voltage is not dangerous to human, because of very small current. but it is enough to kill your laptop or computer.

in computer case it is issue with grounding check PSU power cord and also make sure home AC outlet have good earth connection. if not solved then check PSU inside ground wire is connected to body in good condition, Check it solved if not then better to replace computer PSU.

in laptop case also issue with adaptor you should replace it with brand new one, if you can't find any same voltage and current rated brand laptop adaptor then try this fix.

The fix is just short DC negative to AC ground/earth use good conducting wire and make sure AC outlet has good grounding. doing this you don't notice any shocks as long as you connected to a good grounded outlet.

This fix is not permanent you need to connect 3 pin in order to safe use your lap or notebook, that's why i recommend to replace adaptor with original one. but if you don't find any then this fix is for you.

how does it work ?

AC outlet ground is to protect from shocking and current leaking, here we find the adaptor negative path is leaking unwanted voltage. the DC negative is always zero, by shorting earth and negative the current leak to earth so negative will be zero and no more shocks. we don't do anything with positive path so in that side we get required voltage and negative path we get zero like normal adaptor.
