Work with all edges with flat screwdriver and then popup the backside slide the circuit board ( if your adapter is another type then use your brain and open it "always remember don't put tool inside too deeply it may damage your circuit board")
Now you can see the circuit board check the fuse and other components any sign of burn, if you found all the components are fried or all over burned sign then don't think to repair just replace it.

If your fuse is blown and no other issue check the mov varistor is shorted or any burn marks, if mov is not shorted then short the fuse and test the charger don't just plug to smartphone. just try charging any old useless music box or check output voltage with multimeter after you make sure voltage is ok.

Then replace the fuse and mov varistors to protect next time ( mov protect from over voltage surge caused by lighting or large appliances ) makesure you replace the fuse and mov same rating then only it can protect next time.
here, in my case old fuse 250v & 1.25A fast acting fuse but i don't get same so i replace miniature slow acting same rating fuse and i hope the protection will work next time.
After replacing mov and fuse test whether it is okay, then put it back in housing seal well with glue gun ( this sealing is very important to keep every bad thing inside smoke and blast at the time of circuit failure )

If your issue is not a fuse or mov then it may have any other issue like any ic failed, flyback transformer, shorted diode or zener then i don't recommend try repairing just replace the same OEM adapter.
My Fast charger back to life by changing the fuse and i saved 1000 rupees also good to repair to reduce e-waste but also make sure your safety.
